The short version
FightUrPhobia is made by LCP (Learn, Create, Perfect) in New Zealand. It helps people find films and TV shows that avoid the things they're afraid of. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
- We collect only what the app needs to work.
- Your phobias are private by default. Nobody else sees them unless you turn on "Show on my public profile".
- We don't show ads, we don't use tracking or analytics tools, and we never sell your information.
- You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, at any time. It's removed straight away.
You can use FightUrPhobia without an account
Without an account, the phobias, nicknames and recent searches you choose are stored only on your device. We don't receive them.
What we collect if you create an account

Moderators can see reported reviews, group messages and profiles. They cannot read your direct messages; a reported message tells them only that a report was made.
Services we use
- Supabase stores the app's data in Sydney, Australia.
- Resend sends account emails (confirmation and password reset). It receives your email address for that purpose only.
- The Movie Database (TMDB) provides film and TV information and images. Your device requests these directly, so TMDB can see your IP address, but not your account details.
- DoesTheDogDie.com provides content warnings. Our server looks titles up for you; no information about you is sent.
Notifications are created on your device. We don't collect push tokens.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account exists. Delete account (Profile → Account) permanently removes your profile, phobias, settings, watchlist, ratings, reviews, messages, friends and reports straight away. Support groups you created stay open for their other members, but are no longer linked to you.
Content hidden by moderators is kept (hidden, not deleted) so a decision can be reversed, until the author deletes their account.
Your rights
You can see and change almost everything yourself in the app. You can also ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask any question about this policy at support@lcpapps.com. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
Children
FightUrPhobia isn't made for children under 13, and people under 13 shouldn't create an account.
Safety
FightUrPhobia is not a medical or crisis service. If you need to talk to someone in New Zealand, call or text 1737 any time. In an emergency, call 111.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect.
